Sam Bahour (سام بحور)

Bahour was instrumental in establishing two publicly traded firms: the Palestine Telecommunications Company (PALTEL) and the Arab Palestinian Shopping Centers (APSC). He is co-founder and emeritus member of Americans for a Vibrant Palestinian Economy (A4VPE) and served as an independent director at Arab Islamic Bank P.L.C. from 2004 to 2025. He is a board member at Just Vision.

Sam was profiled in the bestselling book Kingdom of Olives and Ash, edited by Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman. The chapter about him, “The Tallest Man in Ramallah” by Michael Chabon (May 17, 2017), is also available at Literary Hub.

He writes frequently on Palestinian affairs and has been widely published in leading outlets including the New York Times, the Guardian, Haaretz, Al Jazeera America, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, Le Monde diplomatique, Al-Monitor, +972 Magazine, The Hill, Counterpunch, and Arab News, among others. He has appeared on NPR, CNN, BBC, and numerous other broadcast programs.
