Dear friends, <\/span><\/p>\n

It is with a heavy heart that I write you. This is not a time for mincing words. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The ongoing US\/Israeli <\/span> crime against humanity<\/u> <\/span> <\/a><\/span> in Gaza is of historic proportions. The death and destruction, along with the ghosts of all the children murdered in cold blood, will haunt Israelis forever. Israel’s actions are a stain on Israel, a stain on Judaism, and a stain on all of humanity. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

This latest episode in Israel’s bloody attempt to eliminate Palestinians from Palestine is accompanied by a total media blackout and a belligerent campaign of war propaganda and misinformation. Only a few days ago we were all fed the following statement, spoken in the cold, arrogant tone that only a war criminal could articulate: <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

“There is no humanitarian crisis in the Strip, and therefore there is no need for a humanitarian truce.” – Tzipi Livni, Israel’s foreign minister <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Twelve days into this horrific massive onslaught, Israel still refuses to allow foreign journalists to enter the Gaza Strip, despite a ruling from Israel’s own supreme court on Dec 31st, ordering the government to allow the international media into Gaza. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Given this reality and the resulting sterilization of criminal acts, I reluctantly pass you links to 3 pages from today’s Al-Ayyam Newspaper, one of our 3 national dailies. Remember, the 18-month hermetic seal of Gaza, prior to the Dec 27th aggression, has left the Gaza Strip with very few heavy equipment, and even less fuel, to extract the dead from the rubble.<\/span><\/p>\n

The outpouring of support for Gaza from all corners of the world gives us hope that justice will ultimately prevail, somehow, someday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

I have designed a flyer\/ad and would like to suggest that funds be raised locally so it be placed as a paid advertisement in your local newspaper, used as a flyer at public events, as the backside of your event invitations, as an insert in bags at your local supermarket, posted in public places (libraries and university bulletin boards, posted in the window of your local grocery, placed on the windshields of cars at your local malls, posted on websites for further dissemination, etc). <\/span><\/p>\n

Sam Bahour<\/strong> is a Palestinian-American business consultant, writer, and commentator based in Al-Bireh\/Ramallah, Palestine. He is the principal of Applied Information Management (AIM)<\/a>, a consultancy specializing in business development and startup advisory services.<\/p>\r\n

Bahour played a foundational role in establishing two of Palestine\u2019s publicly traded companies: the Palestine Telecommunications Company (PALTEL) and the Arab Palestinian Shopping Centers (APSC). He frequently gives talks to delegations visiting Palestine on the subjects of Palestine\u2019s political economy, Palestinian Politics 101, and a general orientation to the state of affairs under Israeli military occupation.<\/p>\r\n

A prolific writer on Palestinian affairs, Bahour has been published in major international outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, Haaretz, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, Al Jazeera America, Le Monde diplomatique, Al-Monitor, +972 Magazine, The Hill, and Arab News. He has appeared as a commentator on NPR, CNN, BBC, and other broadcast media.<\/p>\r\n

Bahour is the co-editor of Homeland: Oral Histories of Palestine and Palestinians<\/a><\/em> (Olive Branch Press, 1993) and was profiled in the bestselling anthology Kingdom of Olives and Ash<\/a><\/em>, edited by Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman, in a chapter authored by Chabon titled \u201cThe Tallest Man in Ramallah<\/a>.\u201d He holds an Associate\u2019s and Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Technology from Youngstown State University, and a Kellogg-Recanati International Executive MBA \u2014 a joint program of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Recanati Business School at Tel Aviv University.<\/p>\r\n
