The death toll continues…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Still no foreign media inside Gaza…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Local media were targeted, a Palestinian journalist was killed and a media center attacked…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

More chemical munitions, much more, dropped on Gaza today…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span> <\/span> UN Security Council Resolution 1860<\/u> <\/span> <\/span> <\/a> \u00a0passed yesterday fell on deaf ears, and on more dead children’s bodies…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Instead of listing articles tonight, I would like to provide a resource for all of you who, like myself, are facing this total media blackout and belligerent Israeli campaign of war propaganda and misinformation.\u00a0 As the Israeli media chorus continue to try and frame the entire issue as related to an ending of a cease fire, we would all be well advised to use the words of someone this same killing machine murdered in cold blood several years ago — Rachel Corrie.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the words of Rachel Corrie, a 23 year old American college student who was murdered in Rafah [Gaza Strip] by the Israeli Occupation Forces on March 16, 2003:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026Just want to write to my Mom and tell her that I’m witnessing this chronic, insidious genocide and I’m really scared, and questioning my fundamental belief in the goodness of human nature. This has to stop. I think it is a good idea for us all to drop everything and devote our lives to making this stop. I don’t think it’s an extremist thing to do anymore. I still really want to dance around to Pat Benatar and have boyfriends and make comics for my coworkers. But I also want this to stop. Disbelief and horror is what I feel.\u00a0 Disappointment. I am disappointed that this is the base reality of our world and that we, in fact, participate in it. This is not at all what I asked for when I came into this world. This is not at all what the people here asked for when they came into this world\u2026So when I sound crazy, or if the Israeli military should break with their racist tendency not to injure white people, please pin the reason squarely on the fact that I am in the midst of a genocide which I am also indirectly supporting, and for which my government is largely responsible.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rachel gave her life to stop what we are witnessing today.\u00a0 Maybe her words can penetrate the outrageous lies and misinformation which Israel is trying to use to justify mass killing!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sam Bahour<\/strong> is a Palestinian-American business consultant, writer, and commentator based in Al-Bireh\/Ramallah, Palestine. He is the principal of Applied Information Management (AIM)<\/a>, a consultancy specializing in business development and startup advisory services.<\/p>\r\n

A prolific writer on Palestinian affairs, Bahour has been published in major international outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, Haaretz, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, Al Jazeera America, Le Monde diplomatique, Al-Monitor, +972 Magazine, The Hill, and Arab News. He has appeared as a commentator on NPR, CNN, BBC, and other broadcast media.<\/p>\r\n

Bahour is the co-editor of Homeland: Oral Histories of Palestine and Palestinians<\/a><\/em> (Olive Branch Press, 1993) and was profiled in the bestselling anthology Kingdom of Olives and Ash<\/a><\/em>, edited by Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman, in a chapter authored by Chabon titled \u201cThe Tallest Man in Ramallah<\/a>.\u201d He holds an Associate\u2019s and Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Technology from Youngstown State University, and a Kellogg-Recanati International Executive MBA \u2014 a joint program of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Recanati Business School at Tel Aviv University.<\/p>\r\n
